Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using BucksBuddy ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Description of Service

BucksBuddy is a personal finance application that provides:

Manual and automatic transaction tracking (via bank SMS parsing and Apple Pay notification reading).

Budget creation and tracking by category with real-time progress monitoring.

Spending analytics, category breakdowns, and monthly trend reports.

Household expense splitting and balance tracking between partners or roommates.

Push notifications for transaction alerts, budget warnings, and household updates.

Siri Shortcuts integration for voice-activated transaction entry.

User Accounts

You must create an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to provide accurate, current information and to update it as needed. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information.

Household Features

BucksBuddy allows you to create or join a household to share expense tracking with a partner or roommate. When you join a household, other members can see transactions you mark as shared, your spending breakdowns, and net balances between members. You can leave a household at any time through the app settings.

You are responsible for only inviting people you trust to your household. BucksBuddy is not responsible for disputes between household members.

SMS & Notification Access

If you enable automatic transaction logging, the App will read incoming bank SMS messages and Apple Pay notifications to extract transaction details. This feature requires explicit permission from you and can be disabled at any time in your settings. The App processes message content to identify vendor names, amounts, and dates. Raw message data is transmitted to our servers for processing.

Subscriptions & Payments

BucksBuddy offers a free tier with core features including transaction tracking, budgets, and category insights. Premium features are available through paid subscription plans (Solo and Couple).

Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to their respective terms and refund policies. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device's app store settings.

We do not process payments directly or store your payment card information. All payment processing is handled by Apple or Google and subscription management is handled by RevenueCat.

Accuracy of Financial Data

BucksBuddy is a tracking and budgeting tool, not a financial advisor. Transaction data logged automatically from SMS or notifications is parsed using AI and may occasionally contain errors in vendor names, amounts, or categories. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting your transaction data.

We are not liable for any financial decisions made based on information displayed in the App, including budget calculations, spending summaries, or balance figures.

Intellectual Property

All content, features, functionality, design, and code of BucksBuddy are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.

The BucksBuddy name, logo, and bunny mascot are our trademarks.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose or to track finances related to illegal activity.

Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.

Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers, APIs, or infrastructure.

Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the App.

Share your account credentials with others or create multiple accounts.

Limitation of Liability

BucksBuddy is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to financial losses, data loss, or service interruptions.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if required by law. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings, which will initiate removal of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Active subscriptions should be cancelled through your app store before deleting your account to avoid continued billing.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. Continued use of BucksBuddy after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you disagree with the changes, you should stop using the App and delete your account.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal proceedings.
